Human rights veteran Navi Pillay wins 2026 Nobel Peace Prize

South African jurist Navanethem Pillay has been awarded the 2026 Nobel Peace Prize for her work to promote peace and international law. The ex-UN rights chief chaired the UN inquiry that concluded Israel committed genocide in Gaza, and served as Nelson Mandela’s defence lawyer.
