The wait for Shedeur Sanders continues.
The Colorado quarterback didn’t get drafted in the first round of the 2025 NFL draft, but many expected to hear his name called early in the second.
Unfortunately for the son of Primetime Deion Sanders, he has yet to hear his name called.
In an even bigger twist, another quarterback was once again taken over Sanders.
The New Orleans Saints drafted Louisville’s Tyler Shough with the 40th overall pick.
Shough was the third quarterback taken in the 2025 NFL draft, behind Cam Ward at number one and Jaxson Dart at number 26.
The selection left many surprised as Shough is 25 years old.
He is the same age as Trevor Lawrence and is older than Brock Purdy.
Shough had been in college since 2019.
He played two seasons at Oregon, one with Justin Herbert.
Three seasons at Texas Tech, and last year at Louisville.
The Saints were in the market for a quarterback, after the surprising injury news to Derek Carr.

The selection left a lot of fans scratching their heads.
“What world is Tyler Shough a better quarterback than Shedeur Sanders? What are we doing here?” one fan wrote on X.
“I didn’t hear Tyler Shough’s name once all year, bro,” another fan commented.
“I’m at a loss for words,” one more chimed in.
