French bulldogs were given the red carpet treatment in Moscow at a charity event aimed at helping abandoned dogs find new homes.
Dressed in colourful costumes, the dogs strutted down the red carpet at the event organised by volunteers from the Centre of Assistance to French Bulldogs.
“It’s a trendy breed,” said Olga Setina, an administrator at the centre. “Everyone rushes to get them… But they’re bulldogs, they’ve got teeth, they’ve got health issues, they’ve got everything. And then people abandon them,” she added.
The centre helps re-home around 700 bulldogs each year. Many of the dogs taking part in the event had previously been rescued.
Proceeds from the event will go towards supporting the centre’s ongoing work, organisers said.
