The Bear Season 4 will premiere next month on Hulu, while international audiences will need to access Disney+ to binge the next adventures of Carmen “Carmy” Berzatto and his restaurant crew. The new season of the FX comedy-drama will be released in its entirety on Wednesday, Jun. 25 at 8 p.m. ET.
Per The Hollywood Reporter, The Bear Season 4 picks up directly after the events in Season 3, and the official synopsis reads as follows: “With new challenges around every corner, the team must adapt, adjust and overcome. This season, the pursuit of excellence isn’t just about getting better — it’s about deciding what’s worth holding on to.” The Season 3 finale saw the gang attend an afterparty at Sidney’s apartment after the “funeral dinner” at the Ever restaurant, and each of the characters had their own resolution. It was a bittersweet ending that still left many arcs open and mirrored the season’s peculiar narrative (some people were critical because nothing significant seemed to happen in Season 3).

These quotes have stuck out as some of the most memorable and effective pieces of dialogue in the series so far.
The Bear Season 4 will show viewers what happened after the cliffhanger in which Carmy saw the restaurant’s review by the Tribune. Before this, Chicago’s best—but extremely troubled—chef faced his tormenting nemesis, David Fields, in a cathartic moment everyone had been waiting for. Before Carmy read the highly anticipated review, his idol, Chef Andrea Terry, also offered him some candid advice that, hopefully, he will consider for the future of his new restaurant. Cousin Richie’s character had a much-deserved resolution when he was recognized by some of his peers, while Sydney is at a crossroads, having to decide whether to continue with The Bear’s new direction or change course and work in better conditions with Adam.
The previous season of The Bear was one of the most criticized of all three. Nevertheless, it still sits at 89% on Rotten Tomatoes, and has earned a Certified Fresh label. Seasons 1 and 2 boast scores of 100% and 99%, respectively.
‘The Bear’ Season 4 Will Take Things to the “Next Level”
If there’s one thing Carmy and the gang really don’t need, it’s more chaos in the kitchen of The Bear. Season 4 is expected to address some of the tonal inconsistencies seen in Season 3, and FX revealed via The Hollywood Reporter that Sydney, Carmy, and Richie will take their new restaurant to “the next level.”
Hopefully, Carmy will finally get a break from his own self-destructive tendencies in Season 4. His character does need a break, and though it was great to see the other characters’ storylines expanded, we should not forget that The Bear is mostly about Carmy and his inability to cope with his perfectionist ways. Joanna Calo, one of the executive producers, already teased Season 4 as “beautiful” and said, “There’s a lot of joy this season. I think you’re going to be happy. That’s all. It’s not one of the meaner ones.”
The report also confirms that the three main leads — along with the entire supporting cast — are set to return for Season 4. Jeremy Allen White (Carmy), Ayo Edebiri (Sydney), and Ebon Moss-Bachrach (Richie) will be joined by Lionel Boyce, Liza Colón-Zayas, Matty Matheson, and Abby Elliott, among others.
