Sean Payton Speaks Out About Interest In J.K. Dobbins – SportsNews

If Saquon Barkley taught NFL teams anything during his race to 2,000 yards, it’s that the running back position is still a valuable commodity.

To that end, more teams are reinvesting in their backfield in an attempt to replicate the Philadelphia Eagles’ march to a Super Bowl championship.

The Denver Broncos have not had a decent running game in years, and last season it was paced by Javonte Williams at 513 rushing yards.

However, he was let go this offseason and picked up by the Dallas Cowboys.

Trying to improve, the Broncos selected RJ Harvey in the second round of the 2025 NFL Draft.

Now, head coach Sean Payton is on the lookout for more depth, and J.K. Dobbins is visiting Denver looking for a fresh start.

“Just another good football player … the importance of that position group, we really like the group right now that we’re working with, it’s just another opportunity to possibly bring in another good football player to help us win,” Payton said, via Troy Renck of The Denver Post.

Dobbins was a promising back but injuries limited him to 10 starts over four seasons with the Baltimore Ravens.

Last season with the Los Angeles Chargers, Dobbins started 11 games and ran for a career-high 905 yards.
