Rajon Rondo Had Notable Personal Achievement – SportsNews

Rajon Rondo‘s NBA career spanned 16 years from 2006 to 2022, during which he represented nine different organizations and accumulated numerous honors.

The crafty point guard earned four All-Star selections and developed a reputation for elevating his game when the stakes were highest.

After stepping away from professional basketball, Rondo returned to the University of Kentucky, where he had starred from 2004 to 2006, to complete his academic pursuits.

His educational journey has now reached its conclusion with a significant milestone.

“Former NBA All-Star Rajon Rondo graduated from the University of Kentucky today with a BA in Communication,” Yahoo Sports shared.

At 39 years old, Rondo concludes a distinguished basketball career encompassing 957 regular-season NBA contests.

Rondo achieved a rare distinction as one of only two players to win championships with both the Boston Celtics in 2008 and the Los Angeles Lakers in 2020, the two most decorated franchises in league history.

His peak scoring season came during the shortened 2012-13 campaign when he averaged 13.7 points per game.

During the 2009-10 season, he delivered 13.7 points and 9.8 assists per game across a full schedule.

His playoff resume proves equally impressive, with 134 postseason appearances including 105 starts.

The 2008-09 playoff run stands as perhaps his most dominant stretch, when Rondo approached triple double territory by averaging 16.9 points, 9.8 assists and 9.7 rebounds across 14 contests.

His basketball journey began at Oak Hill Academy in Virginia before his two-year stint at Kentucky.

Following his declaration for the 2006 NBA Draft, he constructed a lengthy professional career before officially announcing his retirement in April 2024.

Despite receiving a coaching opportunity from Doc Rivers for the upcoming season, Rondo chose to prioritize mentoring his son’s basketball development while completing his Kentucky degree.
