Patriots Release 6 Players On Monday – SportsNews

The New England Patriots faced a roster crunch following their busy 2025 NFL Draft, having selected 11 players and signing 17 undrafted free agents.

With their roster temporarily expanding to 96 players, six over the 90-man offseason limit, something had to give.

So, the team made some moves to trim the numbers.

“Patriots released OL Jake Andrews, DL Marcus Harris, WR JaQuae Jackson, LB Titus Leo, S Mark Perry and TE Giovanni Ricci,” ESPN insider Adam Schefter wrote on X.

The roster moves come on the heels of what many consider an exceptional draft for the Patriots, with several analysts giving the team an “A” grade for their selections.

Andrews stands out among the cuts as the only player of the group previously drafted by New England.

The Patriots selected him in the fourth round in 2023, but his NFL journey began as a backup as a rookie before a leg injury erased his second season.

Jackson, who joined the Patriots as an undrafted free agent last year, had shown early promise in training camp before a preseason injury ended his season.

Ricci signed with New England this offseason after not landing on a roster last season.

Harris spent most of last season on the practice squad after originally being drafted by the Houston Texans.

Leo, picked up from the Indianapolis Colts’ practice squad, appeared in four games primarily on special teams.

Perry joined the practice squad and remained with the organization throughout the season.
