Lorde’s New Album Virgin: See Cowl Paintings, Launch Date


Lorde has formally introduced her new album: titled Virgin, it’s set for launch on June twenty seventh through Republic Data.

The challenge marks the New Zealand artist’s fourth album thus far following 2021’s Photo voltaic Energy. Talking about Virgin in a message to followers, Lorde wrote,” The colour of the album is obvious. Like bathwater, home windows, ice, spit. Full transparency. The language is obvious and unsentimental. The sounds are the identical wherever attainable. I used to be making an attempt to see myself, during. I used to be making an attempt to make a doc that mirrored my femininity: uncooked, primal, harmless, elegant, openhearted, non secular, masculine.”

“I’m proud and afraid of this album. There’s nowhere to cover. I consider that placing the deepest components of ourselves to music is what units us free,” she added.

In line with this theme, the album’s cowl art work options an X-ray scan of a pelvis with an IUD seen. Test it out beneath.

Virgin is preceded by its lead single, “What Was That,” co-produced by Lorde, Dan Nigro, and Jim-E Stack.
