âÂÂWe cannot move forwardâÂÂ: Savannah Guthrie shares new post seeking information in motherâÂÂs disappearance
Her latest plea comes three months after urging âÂÂsomeone to come forwardâ with details about Nancy Guthrie
Savannah Guthrie has issued a new plea for help on the whereabouts of her 84-year-old mother, who authorities believe was abducted in February.
On Sunday, the Today show co-host shared a photo of an old drawing made by her daughter featuring an umbrella and the words: âÂÂI know it might not seem like it but I really need my mommy.âÂÂ
She also posted a photo of her mother, Nancy Guthrie, with the caption: âÂÂFound this old drawing from my daughter today. It says so much about how I feel. The world goes on, things appear âÂÂnormalâ â as we try to keep going and be strong, especially for our young kids â but itâÂÂs not and it never will be.âÂÂ
Guthrie added: âÂÂWe ache for her, we cry out for answers, we cannot move forward. We need someone to help us, tell us what you know. Our mom was a light in this world. We want to celebrate her and give her the dignity she deserves. The reward is still available. Please. We are begging you. Please help us.
âÂÂThank you to all those who have been kind and shown the best of humanity. Join us in praying without ceasing,â she continued.
GuthrieâÂÂs latest post on Instagram comes just three months after an earlier plea in which she urged âÂÂsomeone to come forwardâ with details on the whereabouts of her mother, who was reported missing from her home in Tucson, Arizona on 1 February.
âÂÂSomeone knows something. Someone suspects something. Someone recognizes the writing in the ransom demand notes. Someone has noticed something different, strange, troubling or just unusual â perhaps with someone they deeply love,â Guthrie wrote in August, adding that her familyâÂÂs offer of a $1m reward is still available.
Alongside drops of blood discovered on GuthrieâÂÂs porch, investigators also recovered DNA from a glove found 2 miles (3.21km) from her home.
The glove appeared to resemble one worn by a suspect seen in surveillance footage from the night of her disappearance. However, the glove was later discredited after it was discovered to have belonged to a restaurant worker, not the abductor involved in the case.
Savannah Guthrie has used her platform as a host of a national television show to raise awareness about her motherâÂÂs disappearance, frequently sharing updates and appeals for information.
The FBI, which has put up an additional $100,000 reward for conclusive information about Nancy Guthrie, is looking for a man approximately 5ft 9in to 5ft 10in tall with an average build.
In July, authorities released two ransom notes sent to a Tucson television station following Nancy GuthrieâÂÂs disappearance.
A ransom note sent on 2 February claimed Nancy Guthrie was unharmed but frightened. It also demanded $4m in cryptocurrency in exchange for her release. However, a second note, received four days later, claimed she had died soon after her abduction.
Authorities have yet to establish whether she is alive and no arrests have been made so far.
