Student protests in Chile turn to violent clashes with police

Riot police in Chile’s capital deployed tear gas and water cannons to disperse hundreds of students protesting proposed education funding cuts. The protests came a day after President Jose Antonio Kast outlined possible cuts in his proposed 2027 budget.
