Germany’s Merz in Kyiv announces $1.5B in aid, urges Putin to end war

German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, on a surprise visit to Kyiv, announced $1.5 billion in military and reconstruction aid and expanded drone cooperation with Ukraine, giving Kyiv greater capability to strike deeper inside Russia. He also urged Russian President Vladimir Putin to end the war.
