Everton owner The Friedkin Group exploring sale of club after two years
Owner looking at investment options including sale
âÂÂTime is right to consider the next chapter for EvertonâÂÂ
EvertonâÂÂs owner, The Friedkin Group, is exploring the âÂÂsale of a controlling interestâ in the club. A statement on Friday said new investment options were being looked into, including a sale.
The group completed its takeover in December 2024, ending the turbulent era of Farhad Moshiri, and oversaw the move to a new stadium.
An Everton statement said: âÂÂThe Friedkin Group is exploring new investment options for Everton Football Club, including the potential sale of a controlling interest.
âÂÂWhen TFG became custodians of Everton, the club faced significant financial uncertainty and challenges both on and off the pitch. The immediate priority was to provide the stability, investment and support needed to secure the clubâÂÂs future, including helping to bring the long-promised stadium to completion for its deserving supporters.
