Ethiopian army claims to have taken Tigrayan stronghold

The Ethiopian military and allied militia claim to have overtaken the town of Alamata which serves as the strategic southern entry point to the Tigray region. New clashes between the Ethiopian army and the Tigray People’s Liberation Front (TPLF) resumed in September.
