Kimari Robinson, the Duke football player who swatted the arm of a training staff member as she checked on an injured player during the team's game against North Carolina over the weekend, apologized for his actions Sunday night.

Video of the incident went viral Saturday.

In it, Robinson was seen standing over teammate DaShawn Stone, who was on his back injured while being tended to by two members of the team's training staff. A third member then approached the group and attempted to move Robinson away so she could check on Stone. Robinson responded by forcibly swatting away her arm.

Robinson said he checked on the staffer and apologized to her after Saturday's game and felt it was right to do the same publicly Sunday night.

"I was completely wrong, and she did not deserve that," he wrote as part of a post on X. "The injured player on the ground, DaShawn Stone, is like family to me, and I was scared he might be seriously hurt. But being worried about him does not excuse how I treated her. I should have controlled my emotions, and I didn't.

"I'm truly sorry for my actions and for letting her, myself and our program down. I have to be better than that."

Robinson is a redshirt junior cornerback and regular starter for a Blue Devils team that dropped to 4-2 after Saturday's 24-20 loss to the Tar Heels.
