SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- Washington Commanders wide receiver Terry McLaurin was carted off the field late in the first quarter with a knee injury and ruled out for the rest of Monday night's game against the San Francisco 49ers.

An air cast was put on McLaurin's left leg before he was placed on the cart.

He was injured while running a route on third-and-9 with 2:16 left in the quarter when his left leg appeared to buckle as he cut near the Washington sideline. Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels was sacked on the play.

McLaurin caught a 27-yard pass on the Commanders' first drive, leading to a field goal. He is second on the team in receptions with 15 and has a team-high 230 yards receiving.

McLaurin, 31, missed Washington's Week 4 game against the Indianapolis Colts after injuring a hamstring two days earlier, but he returned the following week.

He missed seven contests in 2025, snapping a streak of 72 consecutive games played. Before last season, he had been a consistent producer, with five consecutive 1,000-yard seasons, from 2020 to 2024.
