Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic emblems leaked by official YouTube account
Sneak preview shown in video after pieces revealed over past week
Cockatoo-inspired emblem to be officially unveiled on Monday
The Brisbane 2032 Olympics and Paralympics emblems have been accidentally leaked by the Gamesâ official YouTube channel, three days before its own big reveal.
Pieces of the puzzle had been revealed across Queensland over the past week with the full logos to come together during an official unveiling on Monday.
But the cockatoo-inspired emblem was shown in full on Friday when the Brisbane 2032 YouTube account briefly posted an âÂÂemblem explainerâ video.
The emblems depicting a pink cockatoo for the Olympics and a sulphur-crested cockatoo for the Paralympics, were shown in the top-right corner of the video with the inspiration behind them detailed in the videoâÂÂs description.
A screenshot of the logo was subsequently posted on Reddit, later being removed by RedditâÂÂs legal operations team.
The Brisbane Olympic committee confirmed the logo to be accurate when approached by Guardian Australia, but did not provide further comment.
In a post on Instagram on Saturday morning, the committee posted the two logos in full stating: âÂÂConsider this your official reveal.âÂÂ
âÂÂInspired by our reef, beaches, hinterland, and everything in between, they bring together the places, people and spirit that will take us to 2032,â the post stated.
âÂÂDistinctive. Unmistakably Queensland. And just a little bit cheeky.âÂÂ

The Queensland minister for the Olympics, Tim Mander, was grilled on the accidental leak on NineâÂÂs Today Show on Saturday morning, where he downplayed the incident.
âÂÂIâÂÂm actually excited itâÂÂs finally out,â he said. WeâÂÂve spent the week right down the coast of Queensland, Cairns, Townsville and Rockhampton, the Sunshine Coast, and a day at the Gold Coast revealing the emblem piece by piece.
âÂÂAnd itâÂÂs finally out. WeâÂÂre very excited about what we have finished up with.âÂÂ
Today host Alison Piotrowski replied: âÂÂThatâÂÂs one way to spin it.âÂÂ
Mander said people would have theories about how it leaked â and whether it was deliberate â but he blamed people who were âÂÂso enthusiastic about looking for the emblemâ they had been scanning the internet and discovered it.
âÂÂItâÂÂs appeared for a short time, and itâÂÂs out there.âÂÂ
Mander said he believes Queenslanders and Australians more broadly will embrace the logo.
âÂÂTheyâÂÂre going to see it everywhere. It will be synonymous with Brisbane 2032 for decades and decades to come.âÂÂ
The Monday launch will include the story behind the emblem, and animated vision, Mander said.
The 2032 Olympic Park Stadium is in the early construction phase in Brisbane. In August, the Queensland government released concept images in August of a parkland precinct around the stadium, designed to quell concerns about the loss of inner-city parkland.
Critics have described the plans as a âÂÂfantasy visionâÂÂ.
