Rod Stewart has been forced to cut his current tour short after undergoing heart surgery, according to a post shared on his Instagram Tuesday evening.
Sir Stewart underwent a routine coronary stent procedure and has canceled his remaining “One Last Time Tour” dates, which included a stint in Las Vegas, in order to recover, the post said. Stewart’s operation was a success, doctors are pleased with his recovery, and he is doing “very well and has returned to his normal daily activities,” the post noted.
“On the advice of his doctors, he will take the next four weeks to recuperate and regain full fitness before returning to the stage,” the post continued. “Unfortunately, this means he will be unable to continue his current tour dates.”

The English singer had concerts in the U.S. and Mexico lined up through August and September with a six-night “The Encore Shows” stint scheduled for Caesars Palace in Las Vegas.
While fans are wishing Stewart well after this cancellation, some were perturbed when he bailed on a June gig in San Diego, citing a sinus infection and laryngitis, only to be seen singing in a video on his way to a World Cup match a short time after canceling.
