Forget ‘John Wick’, Keanu Reeves Risks Lives in Thrilling New Series

Keanu Reeves is widely recognized as a global action icon, who performs roughly 90% of his own action sequences, handling most of the fighting, driving, and shooting himself. One of the actor’s defining roles is, of course, the legendary assassin John Wick. He has played the character for more than a decade, unleashing a maelstrom of destruction against the criminal underworld through his mastery of gun-fu (blending traditional martial arts with close-quarters firearm combat). Even the most fortified syndicate bosses, high-powered organizations, and hitmen are vulnerable when the Baba Yaga comes for them. Being a one-man army requires endurance and grit – traits that Reeves is familiar with both on and off the screen.

As a self-confessed motorsport fanatic, Reeves has traded Hollywood movie stunts for real unscripted danger in the high-stakes world of professional racing. His latest project, Hooligans: The ARCH Racing Project, a six-part docuseries that premiered on Samsung TV Plus on Jul. 12, 2026, follows the actor and custom bike builder Gard Hollinger, founders of ARCH Motorcycle, as they shift gears from building world-class machines in the garage to the grid to participate in MotoAmerica, America’s premier motorcycle road racing series, where they line up on the asphalt against the best in the Super Hooligan National Championship.

In an exclusive interview with MovieWeb, Reeves, who executive produces and stars in the thrilling new racer docuseries, chronicling the journey of the boutique motorcycle company he co-founded with Hollinger, touched on some of the risks associated with sending vehicles (and their riders) into the unforgiving arena of the adrenaline-fueled circuit. He explained how overcoming the “gauntlet” of racing allows the company to gain vital insights, even though he recognizes that it is a harsh classroom for development:

“I think that’s kind of what ARCH is about, is just trying to keep developing, keep improving, and I think we saw an opportunity that going through the gauntlet of racing, ARCH racing, we would learn so much about what we do and what we’re doing, and with that, keep going, keep developing.”

Reeves does not physically compete as a racer in the series, but rather participates as the team owner, co-founder, and executive producer. He is joined by Hollinger, who also acts as an executive producer, alongside Sharon Hollinger, Carter Skeath, Chance Wright, Rick DeOliveira, and John Stevens, with Alan Bloom serving as showrunner. The first episode, which debuted on Sunday, introduced champion rider Corey Alexander as he geared up to head out on the track to compete against titans like Harley-Davidson.

The remaining episodes of the six-part docuseries will premiere on Samsung Television Network (STN), Samsung TV Plus’ flagship channel, every Sunday through Aug. 16, 2026, giving fans of Reeves an unscripted look at his real-life passion and personality outside his action-hero persona. It will help to fill the gap while waiting for John Wick: Chapter 5, which is officially in development with Reeves returning to reprise his titular role, alongside all the prequels, sequels, and spin-offs expanding the franchise in the interim.
