Billy Corgan Listens to Geese, Thinks They Should Fight Goose – 8881199.XYZ

Now that he is aware of Geese’s music, Billy Corgan has suggested they fight the similarly named band, Goose.

The Smashing Pumpkins vocalist was the guest on a recent episode of the YouTube series Track Star, where he was asked to identify who sang several different songs. Toward the end of the episode, host Jack Coyne played Geese’s “Au Pays du Cocaine” for him.

After digesting the music for a while, Corgan took off his headphones to guess what he was listening to. “Sounds like a bit of a Springsteen thing going on there,” he said, curiously. After Coyne told him that the song was from a band named Geese, Corgan smiled, confirmed he didn’t mean a band named Goose, and then gave his thoughts on the former.

“They should have a fight,” Corgan said. “Goose versus Geese. Winner takes all.”

Corgan’s seeming approval of Geese’s music came days after Nick Cave gave them a cosign of epic proportions when he described how their song “Trinidad” makes him feel.

Geese’s latest album, Getting Killed, was released in September. Check out our review of the Chicago stop on their supporting tour. The band will return to the road in 2026 ahead of their Coachella appearance, with stops across Australia, Japan, Europe, and the UK. Get tickets here.

Meanwhile, Goose’s latest album, Chain Yer Dragon, dropped in August.
