After retiring from music in 2024 and making “life-changing” money in less than a year on OnlyFans, Iggy Azalea is reinventing herself as a business mogul to hawk her new crypto meme coin, Mother.
“It seemed to me that, especially with meme tokens, they were central to virality, and that really interests me, obviously,” Azalea told ABC’s Nightline. When it comes to virality, she added, “I think I have been pretty successful at it.”
The former rapper became an overnight sensation in 2014 after dropping “Fancy” with Charli XCX. In 2020 she had baby Onyx with her now-ex Playboi Carti, and she drew inspiration from motherhood to name her meme coin, Mother.

Her business ventures, which include co-founding the wireless provider Unreal Mobile, were made possible by her OnlyFans earnings. However, she denied reports that she made $48 million in 2024, noting, “It was a little lower.”
Azalea sees her entrepreneurship as an attempt to regain control in her life after feeling adrift in the music industry. “I think a big part of the last ten years of my life, honestly, have been about getting that control back for me: To be able to navigate my own ship in those ways. It feels really good to be able to do it.”
