History Channel brought back Ice Road Truckers after an eight-year hiatus with Season 12 on October 1. The hit reality series following 18-wheeler drivers venturing through some of the most remote areas and dangerous treks first aired in 2017 before its extended break after more than a decade on the air.
This time around saw returning faces Todd Dewey and Lisa Kelly sign up for duty at the Muskie Creek trucking company in Northern Canada. They were joined by newcomer Scott “Scooter” Yuill. Another story chronicled involved Shaun Harris, who carried on his family business alongside sons Riley and Zach. The eight-episode season concluded on November 19, but will there be a Season 13? Read on to find out what we know.
When and where will Ice Road Truckers Season 13 premiere?
Ice Road Truckers is produced by History Channel and Corus Entertainment by Original Productions and Eagle Vision. Jeff Hasler, Brian Lovett, Meredith Prunkard and Patrick Costello are executive producers for Original Productions; Kyle Irving, Lisa Meeches and Rebecca Gibson are EPs for Eagle Vision. Rachel Nelson and Lynne Carter are the executives in charge at Corus, and Eli Lehrer, Mary E. Donahue and Alex Hicks serve as executive producers for History.
The gap between the past season and the recent one was almost a decade. Even though the network hasn’t revealed if the show will return for Season 13, the hopes are high that there will be more new episodes in 2026 as the series has just begun to rev up again. It also helps that Lehrer, executive vice president and head of programming for History, seems to have been excited for Ice Road Truckers entering the mix once again alongside the likes of Gold Rush and Deadliest Catch. He alluded to the start of the next chapter for the show.
“The timing couldn’t be better to bring back a beloved series that once resonated with our viewers for over a decade,” he said, “We’re pleased to have this new season of Ice Road Truckers be a co-production with our Canadian partners at Corus Entertainment as this season ventures into a new era of storytelling for the series that infuses fresh energy and new challenges while honoring its rich legacy.”
What is Ice Road Truckers about?
The reality TV series centers on drivers on harrowing journeys over frozen lakes and rivers to bring essential supplies to remote communities over a small window of wintery months. They risk life and limb under blistering conditions. Each trucker brings its own unique backstory and motivations. The deadlines are tight, but the paychecks can be big if the cargo is delivered successfully.
Who stars in Ice Road Truckers Season 13?
The veteran drivers of Season 12 were Todd Dewey and Lisa Kelly. Dewey, a family man, had hopes of using the money from the season to purchase his own truck. Bill Danh, operations director at Muskie Creek, gave him a call at the airport to see if he’d return next season. Dewey was homesick and indecisive of his future.
Kelly came back with hopes to repair her own truck and generate enough funds to take care of her horses. She and new cast member Scott “Scooter” Yuill entered into a bet for who had the most mileage traveled in Season 12. The two bonded over their experiences together. They were more likely to come back. After losing the $100 bet to Kelly, Yuill would probably want a rematch.
Shaun Harris worked with his sons Riley and Zach on keeping the family business afloat. Riley and Zach each wanted to make their dad proud. At the same time, they had hopes to take over with Shaun Harris hinting at stepping back a bit. Given their last conversation, it looks like the Harris boys would stick around to take operations to the next level. There are several alumni who didn’t return, but could be brought in the future. Alex Debogorski was the only cast member to appear in other prior seasons.
