David Byrne has released a new song, “T Shirt,” co-written by his longtime friend and collaborator, Brian Eno. Listen to it below.
The Talking Heads founder makes his moral compass clear on “T Shirt,” expressing his belief in helping others during a time when that doesn’t necessarily seem like something everyone else is worried about.

“Everyone does what they want/ I believe in helping others,” Byrne sings over production that carries the classic spirit of electro-pop in a light, exciting manner. “I will sing my freedom song/ I donate to worthy causes/ I go along to get along.”

The single marks Byrne’s first new material since the release of his ninth studio album, Who Is the Sky?, in September. Produced by Grammy winner Kid Harpoon with arrangements by members of New York’s Ghost Train Orchestra, the LP features appearances from Paramore’s Hayley Williams, The Smile, St. Vincent, and more.
“T Shirt” may be officially out today, but the track has been a staple of his ongoing “Who Is the Sky” tour. Accompanied by the display of slogans like “Make America Gay Again” and “No Kings,” it has become a fan favorite. Revisit our review of his recent show at New York City’s Radio City Music Hall.
