Binance Enables Crypto Payments via Pix in Brazil

  • Binance enables crypto payments via Brazil’s widely used Pix system.
  • Brazil first to integrate Binance Pay with the national payment network.
  • Users pay with crypto, instantly converted to Brazilian reais (BRL).

Binance has recently taken an important step to support crypto use in daily life by allowing cryptocurrency payments through Pix in Brazil. The change is considered to be a major shift for the country’s financial system. Binance users in Brazil can now use Pix, their most popular way to pay, to make fast payments. It may sound complicated, but doing it is straightforward. Binance customers in Brazil now have the option to send payments or pay for transactions with crypto, and the system immediately turns the crypto amount into Brazilian reais (BRL).

Brazil Becomes First to Link Binance Pay with Local System

Users can use this feature directly on the Binance app without leaving it. Consumers are able to use one of over 100 digital currencies to finalize their payment. After this, the digital currency is changed into the local currency, and the transaction is completed with Pix. Consequently, anyone in Brazil can now act on their crypto assets as they act on money in any regular bank. Because of this, users who choose crypto as their preferred payment will have an easier experience.

Most people in the past had to cash out their crypto, move the funds to their bank, and then spend them. The upgrade has helped crypto become much easier to use and faster. Because many people in Brazil already trust Pix, introducing crypto will help them accept it. This is the first time Binance Pay will cooperate with a domestic payment system. It means Binance is intending to meet what local users need and help drive the adoption of cryptocurrencies worldwide.

Crypto use is very high in Brazil when compared to other countries. Digital assets are accessible to many individuals already in the country. There has been a recent finding that 42% of Brazilian investors hold cryptocurrencies. This number is quite close to the number of people investing in mutual funds or stocks. Since Brazil is also the sixth-largest crypto market in the world, it makes sense for Binance to start with this country.

76% of Brazilians Use Pix—Binance Aims to Tap Into Its Popularity

Pix is already used by many people in Brazil. The Central Bank of Brazil began offering Pix in 2020, and it is now used by millions of people. According to data, 76% of users have tried out Pix. Even debit cards and cash have been left behind in popularity by credit cards. As a result, people find it easier to use cryptocurrency because they trust Pix.

According to co-founder He Yi, Binance’s leaders are optimistic about the benefits. Richard Teng, CEO of Binance, stated that the move offers Brazil’s most reliable payment network package and global Binance crypto support. Guilherme Nazar, an executive at Binance, explained that the goal is to improve the company’s services for each country’s users.

In the end, this addition could affect how users see and interact with crypto. People can spend digital coins as they would cash, and using them for payment is also easy. By partnering with a recognized system, Binance is bringing crypto closer to people in Brazil.
