The Chicago Cubs recalled third baseman Matt Shaw from Triple-A Iowa on Monday, whereas infielder Nicky Lopez was designated for task.
Shaw, 23, was batting .295 with a 1.119 OPS, 5 homers, 10 RBIs and 15 runs in his final 11 video games with Iowa. He started the season with the Cubs and batted .172 with a homer, three RBIs and 18 strikeouts in 18 video games.
