Francis Ford Coppola has had a long and storied career spanning decades, with a filmography that boasts acclaimed classics such as The Godfather and Apocalypse Now. He has continued to take big swings, with his latest epic, 2024’s Megalopolis, proving to be one of his most risky undertakings to date, given that he self-financed the film to the tune of $120 million (only for it to later bomb at the box office). If nothing else, the movie’s lead star, Adam Driver, enjoyed getting to work with the maverick filmmaker first-hand, as he spoke highly of the experience at a recent Gala Tribute to benefit AFI’s education and arts initiatives.
